Thanks for the comments chaps :)

Just to avoid any confusion, it will be only be for FSX. :OB: It will also be VC only, no 2D panel, but probably with some pop-ups for radios etc (not sorted yet).

Inital release will be B.MkIV & PR.MkIV with other bomber varaints to follow at some point.

FB.MkVI will follow the bombers, although there is quite a bit of work involved in the change.

I hope to cover most major variants.

No timescale for any of this. I know it's been a looong time coming but I hope it's worth the wait.

Hi,

Please excuse me for flogging a dead horse and being ignorant, but does "FSX only" apply to both visual model and flight dynamics so the visual model couldn't be mated to FS9 flight dynamics and flown in FS9 ? *-)

Correct, FSX allows much more complex visual models than FS9 so they're not backwards compatible. Flight dynamics might be backwards compatible if none of the new FSX entries were used.

Hi Degsy

I guess that was a veiled question and the question being if you used FS.9 dynamcis could you fly this in FS.9?? :hide:

Is that was the question :worried: then it is a most definate no as the compiling for FS.X makes it impossible for FS.9 to read it. :(

Having decided, a long time ago, to stick with FS9 I am disappointed that this new Mosquito will only be made for FSX.

Hi James :hello:

Simple matter is that Dave uses FS.X and he is never going to make a model for a Sim he doesn't have. :(

Sorry, but as Garry has said, I only use FSX now. I'm not going to get into the FS9 vs FSX debate, but to make a model (or series of models) for both sims is not really practical for a lone freeware developer.

There's always the Just Flight Mossie for FS9 :hide:

Hi,

Thanks to all for your replies. I will stay with my current FS9 Mosquito (my most favourite plane) as I have fettled its flight dynamics considerably, the visual model is quite good and my PC won't support FSX :)

I understand the good sense in sticking to one sim and matching design system especially if you are a solo developer.

I am unlikely to move on to FSX. Nevertheless I had hoped for a really good looking Mosquito with realistic performance for FS9.

Nice work on the external model. Will the Mosquito have its own soundset?

Hi AD,

Dave is on holiday for a few weeks, so it might take a few weeks for a reply to that one.

Dave, this looks stunning so far! I've always loved the mossie and had many a model kit of them back in the day. I've always been a fan of the glass nose variants as they are more reminiscent of my beloved Canberra (built as the successor to the Mossie, so no suprise there). As for the eternal FS9/FSX debate, I understand the issues from both the user and developer side; the simple fact is you're never going to please everyone. The second you put up WIPs of a model for either sim, you inevitably attract the question of whether it will work for the other!

Anyway, cracking work and can't wait to see more.
